Samuel has in-depth knowledge and experience in providing specification data that is aligned to customer needs. An industry-leading expert on WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light vehicles Test Procedure), he is currently focused on Autovista Group's transition to the new WLTP for fuel consumption and emissions data, ensuring all of the necessary developments are made on our products and systems across our markets. He sets a Group-wide standard for specification data and provides highly-respected thought leadership in the area of vehicle specifications and emissions.

    Market Analyst

    DEPARTMENT

    The Car To Market (CTM) & Consulting department is adding insights to Autovista Group’s data to support our automotive clients driving their business success. Car To Market is a standardised consulting study, which provides advice to manufacturers on how to optimise the launch and residual value performance of a new vehicle. 

    SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

    Conduct specialised consulting projects in order to advice to manufacturers on how to optimise the launch and residual value (RV) performance of a new vehicle. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct detailed vehicle assessments for European markets and in particular Big-5, e.g. market-specific benchmarking of upcoming vehicle launches vs. competitors, obtaining buy-in from the quality manager and project coordinator
    • Present and explain project results in front of customers and third parties
    • Attend clients’ vehicle launch events
    • Research the market to ensure our knowledge and databases are up to date
    • Continuously support optimising CTM processes and methodology 
    • Respond to ad hoc questions from customers related to the studies 
    • Continuously communicate with project coordinator regarding current information status, customer requirements and project progress
    • Support, participate and conduct the creation of white papers, market reports and consulting studies to obtain a deeper understanding of the automotive industry and to develop Autovista Group thought leadership 

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

    • University degree in area of relevance (e.g. business administration, engineering) or equivalent educational off-/on-the-job training
    • First (relevant) work experience
    • Strong interest in cars, mobility and the automotive markets. Additionally good knowledge of one or more Big-5 automotive markets
    • Analytical mind-set, strong analytical skills, highly numerate and affinity with numbers
    • Efficient time management and independent working method
    • Strong interpersonal skills (team spirit)
    • Apt communication (incl. report writing) and presentation skills
    • Good level of drive and persistence
    • Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Very good knowledge of the English language, both orally and in writing; further language skills helpful
    • Openness to other cultures
    • Driving license for passenger cars
    • Availability to travel

    Tom Ovenden

    <p>Tom has a track record of implementing effective financial reporting processes, developing high performance teams, and driving commercial success. Before joining Autovista Group in May 2013, Tom was CFO of the EMEA region at Five Ten Group, a private equity-backed recruitment group, worked as Regional FD for Newsquest and was Finance Director for what is now Manheim Auctions based in Australia. Prior to that, Tom completed his accountancy training at PWC in London.</p>
